How to Clean a Desktop and Pedestal Fan

  1. Carefully unplug the fan.
  2. In a bowl, mix together a tablespoon of toothpaste and 7 ounces of boiling hot water.
  3. Add in 2 tablespoons of washing up liquid and mix.
  4. Finally add in 2 tablespoons of white vinegar/alcohol vinegar and mix together.
  5. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle.
  6. Begin to spray the fan, especially the grid and fan blades.
  7. Place a plastic bag over the fan.
  8. Turn on the fan and set to medium speed.
  9. Leave for 2 minutes.
  10. Plug out the fan and remove the plastic bag.
  11. Remove the grill and dry the grill and blades with a cloth.
  12. Clip the grill back on and enjoy your clean fan!
Tip: Clean the fan every 2-4 weeks for more efficient cooling and cleaner air.

How to Clean a Portable Air Conditioner

  1. Turn off and unplug the air conditioning unit.
  2. Carefully remove and wash the air filter with warm water and dish soap.
  3. Ensure it is dried fully before using a vacuum (with a brush attachment) to clean coils and vents.
  4. If water tank is dirty, drain the water and if possible, wipe it clean with a cloth.
  5. Using a damp cloth, wipe down the exterior.
  6. Refill the water tank and plug in the unit.
  7. Turn it on and enjoy your clean air conditioning unit!
