The Explorer 100 Plus is deliberately built to 99Wh - just under the 100Wh limit airlines apply to lithium batteries in hand luggage - and it is UN38.3 certified, so it goes in the cabin rather than being confiscated at the gate. Inside is a LiFePO4 cell rather than standard lithium-ion, rated for 2,000 cycles while still holding 80% of its capacity, which is several times the working life of a conventional power bank. It puts out 128W across three ports, including 100W dual USB-C Power Delivery that will run a laptop, and it recharges itself from 0 to 70% in an hour. At under a kilo it is a genuine everyday carry.
