The EnergySilence 2000 FloorFlow is a 20 inch floor fan with a 90W motor - substantially more air than the small desk and tower fans that dominate the shelves, and enough to shift the air in a workshop, a garage, a conservatory or a busy kitchen rather than just stirring it around one chair. Five aerodynamic blades move the air efficiently, three speeds let you dial it from background to full, and the controls are a simple switch rather than a menu. It sits on a wide, stable base with a protective grille over the blades, and at 60 x 25 x 60cm it takes up little floor space for the amount of air it moves.
90W motor
Ninety watts is a lot for a domestic fan - most tower and desk fans run at 25 to 45W. That is the difference between a fan that cools the person sitting in front of it and one that ventilates the whole room.
20 inch diameter
A 20 inch blade span moves far more air per revolution than the 9 to 16 inch fans typical in the home, which means it can run at a lower speed for the same effect - and a fan running slower is a fan running quieter.
