GDPR-grade cross-cut shredding for the home office
A cross-cut shredder rated security level P-4, which is the level that actually matters if you are disposing of anything with personal data on it. P-4 cuts paper into 4 x 39mm particles - small enough that reconstruction is not realistically possible, and the level generally accepted as appropriate for GDPR-compliant destruction of personnel records, contracts, bank statements and tax documents. It takes five sheets at a time, shreds plastic and chip cards including the magnetic stripe, and has staple-proof steel cutters so you are not picking staples out of every document first. The 11 litre bin has a viewing window so you know when it needs emptying.
Security level P-4, T-4, E-3
Cross-cut to 4 x 39mm particles. P-4 is the DIN 66399 level considered appropriate for destroying personal data under GDPR - personnel files, employment contracts, balance sheets and personal tax documents. A cheaper strip-cut shredder does not meet that bar.
Shreds cards as well as paper
Plastic cards, chip cards and magnetic stripes go through the same paper entry via the card slot, so expired bank and loyalty cards get destroyed properly rather than going in the bin intact.
Staple-proof steel cutters
The steel cutting head handles staples, so you can feed stapled documents straight in instead of dismantling them first. This is the feature that decides whether a shredder actually gets used.
Automatic start and stop
Feed paper in and it starts on its own; stop feeding and it stops. No switch to remember.
Reverse function for jams
If it does jam, the reverse function backs the paper out rather than leaving you to dig it out of the cutters with a screwdriver.
