A domestic router in the corner of a pub, a salon or an office will never cover the whole floor, and adding extenders halves the throughput every hop. An access point solves it properly: you run one Ethernet cable to a point in the ceiling and the AP delivers full-speed Wi-Fi from the middle of the space, drawing its power down the same cable over PoE so it needs no socket. The EAP225 is dual-band AC1350 - 867Mbps on 5GHz and 450Mbps on 2.4GHz - with MU-MIMO and beamforming, and it will run up to 16 SSIDs so staff, guests and card machines can all sit on separate networks. Add an Omada controller and several of them behave as one system with seamless roaming between them.

AC1350 dual band
867Mbps on 5GHz for anything that needs throughput and 450Mbps on 2.4GHz for range and older devices.

Powered over Ethernet
802.3af PoE or 24V passive PoE from the included adapter, so the only thing you run to the ceiling is one network cable. No socket, no trailing power lead.

MU-MIMO and beamforming
MU-MIMO serves several devices at once rather than taking turns, and beamforming aims the signal at the client instead of broadcasting evenly in all directions.

Up to 16 SSIDs with VLAN mapping
Eight networks per band, each mappable to its own VLAN - which is how you keep a guest network genuinely separate from the till system.

Band steering and load balancing
Pushes capable devices onto 5GHz and spreads clients across the APs, so one access point does not end up carrying everything.

Seamless roaming and Omada Mesh
With an Omada SDN controller, several EAP225s present one network and hand devices between them as people walk through the building.

Captive portal for guest Wi-Fi
Run a branded guest login page, with an Omada controller.

Omada app and controller management
Managed from the Omada app or from cloud, hardware or software controllers, with multi-site management, SNMP, SSH and syslog.

Ceiling or wall mounting
Mounting kits for both are included, along with a physical security lock point.
