A third-party charger that almost fits is the fastest way to kill a laptop battery. This is HP's own 65 W Smart AC adapter with the 4.5 mm connector used across ProBook, EliteBook, ZBook, Stream and Chromebook ranges - and because HP changed connector size partway through, a 7.4 mm conversion dongle is included so it also fits older notebooks. Smart circuitry negotiates the correct voltage with the machine rather than pushing a fixed output at it.
