Fast ceramic heat, on a timer, from the sofa
A slim ceramic tower heater that warms a room quickly and then gets out of the way. Ceramic heating self-regulates - it adjusts its own output to the temperature in the room rather than running flat out until you notice - so it is more economical to leave running than a bar heater. There are two power levels, 1200W for taking the chill off and the full 2000W for warming a cold room fast, a thermostat to hold the temperature once you are there, and a 24 hour timer so it can come on before you get up. It is rated for rooms up to 60 cubic metres, weighs 1.8kg, and comes with a remote so you are not getting up to change it.
Ceramic heating that regulates itself
Ceramic elements balance power against efficiency by self-regulating - the heater adjusts its output depending on how warm the room already is, rather than running at full power regardless. It heats quickly from cold and then settles down instead of overshooting.
Two power levels: 1200W and 2000W
Use 1200W to hold a room that is already comfortable and the full 2000W to bring a cold room up quickly. Being able to drop to the lower setting is what keeps the running cost sensible over a whole evening.
24 hour timer and digital control panel
A digital panel with an LED display handles the power level, thermostat and timer. Set it to come on before you get up in the morning or to switch itself off an hour after you go to bed.

Eco and antifreeze functions
Eco mode holds a comfortable temperature at the lowest power that will do it. The antifreeze setting keeps a room just above freezing, which is what you want in a spare room, a utility or a conservatory over a cold snap.

Tip-over safety cut-off
An electronic safety feature switches the heater off immediately if it is knocked over - the one thing that actually matters with a portable heater in a house with children or a dog.
Oscillation and a washable filter
The tower rotates to spread heat across the room rather than aiming it at one chair, and the dust filter detaches for cleaning so airflow does not drop off over a season.
