The PowerDetect Speed is Shark's cordless flagship for pet homes, and the point of it is that you stop making decisions. A set of sensors works out what the vacuum is driving over and what is actually there - carpet or hard floor, an edge, a hidden patch of dirt, which direction you are pushing - and adjusts suction and brushroll speed on the fly, boosting power by up to 50% where it is needed. When you dock it, the Auto-Empty Charging Dock empties the dust cup for you and holds up to 45 days of debris before you touch a bag. At 3.22kg for the wand it is noticeably lighter than the model it replaces, and MultiFlex bends the tube so you can get under a sofa without kneeling on the floor.

PowerDetect: four sensors, no settings to change
Dirt Detect finds hidden dirt and boosts suction; Floor Detect senses the change from carpet to hard floor and adjusts brushroll speed; Edge Detect increases suction along skirting and into corners; Direction Detect gives full power on the backward stroke as well as the forward one. Together they lift cleaning power by up to 50% where it counts, without you touching a button.

Auto-Empty Charging Dock
Park it and it does two jobs at once - recharges the battery and empties the dust cup into the dock, which holds up to 45 days of dust and debris. For a pet household that is the difference between emptying a small cup every single clean and dealing with it once a month.

Built for pet hair
The Pet Pro configuration pairs the anti-hair-wrap floor head with a motorised pet tool for upholstery and stairs, so long hair gets pulled off the brushroll rather than wound around it.

Reveal hidden dust on hard floors
A precision-angled cyan beam rakes across hard floors at a low angle, throwing fine dust into contrast so you can see what is actually still there. It is a simple idea and it is unreasonably effective on dark wood and tile.

MultiFlex bends to reach under furniture
The wand folds mid-way so the head slides flat under a sofa or bed while you stay standing. The same fold lets it stand up on its own for storage.

Lighter in the hand
The wand is 3.22kg, down from 3.7kg on the previous generation, and the hand vac alone is 1.59kg. Over a full house that difference is felt in your shoulder.

Anti-Allergen Complete Seal with HEPA
A fully sealed system with HEPA filtration traps fine dust, debris and up to 99.97% of allergens inside the vacuum instead of blowing them back into the room.
