Product Description
The H2 chip, spatial audio and an open fit that disappears after five minutes
The standard AirPods 5 are the open-fit pair - no silicone tip pushed into your ear, which for a lot of people is the difference between wearing earbuds all day and taking them out after an hour. Inside is Apple's H2 chip driving Personalised Spatial Audio with head tracking, so sound is placed around you and stays put as you turn. They are IP57 rated against dust, sweat and water, Conversation Awareness drops the volume when you start talking, and Voice Isolation keeps your voice clear on calls. The case charges over USB-C and gives up to 20 hours in total.
Apple H2 chip
The same silicon family as Apple's flagship earbuds, handling the noise cancellation, the spatial audio processing and the voice isolation on calls.
Personalised Spatial Audio with head tracking
Sound is placed around you and stays anchored as you turn your head, so the dialogue in a film stays with the screen rather than following your ears.
IP57 rated
Rated against dust, sweat and water - so rain on a walk or a heavy gym session is not a problem.
Conversation Awareness
Lowers the volume automatically when you start speaking to someone, instead of making you pull an earbud out.
Voice Isolation on calls
Separates your voice from the background so the person on the other end hears you rather than the street.
Live Translation
Translates a conversation in real time through the earbuds. Requires a compatible Apple Intelligence iPhone.
Find My speaker in the case
The case has its own speaker, so Find My can make it audible rather than just showing a map pin.
Bluetooth 5.3
A stable, efficient connection with low latency for video.
Open fit
No silicone tip to push into the ear canal. For people who find in-ear tips uncomfortable or who want to stay aware of traffic, this is the whole reason to choose them.
USB-C charging case
The case charges over USB-C - the same cable as a modern iPhone, iPad or MacBook.
