The R85H is Samsung's entry point into Micro RGB — a genuinely new panel technology, not another Neo QLED refresh. Instead of a white Mini LED backlight sitting behind a colour filter, the R85H uses thousands of individually controlled red, green and blue LED clusters to generate colour directly at the light source. The result is a wider colour volume, deeper local dimming precision, and blacks and brights that hold their own next to OLED, backed by Samsung's Vision AI processing for picture and sound that adjusts itself to whatever you're watching.

Micro RGB Backlighting
Individually addressed RGB LED clusters replace the traditional white-LED-plus-filter approach, giving Micro RGB Precision Color 100 — Samsung's claim of full BT.2020 colour space coverage — along with more accurate, more consistent colour across the whole screen.
