Samsung's 2026 Neo QLED, sized right for the main living room

The QN70H is Samsung's entry point into Neo QLED for 2026 - it takes the Mini LED backlighting and Quantum dot colour that used to be reserved for the flagship sets and brings them down to a more sensible price. At 55" it's the size most Irish living rooms actually settle on: big enough to disappear into for a film night, not so big it dominates the room. You get Mini LED contrast, HDR10+ Adaptive, a proper Tizen smart hub and Samsung's new Vision AI features, without paying for the 4K 120Hz gaming spec of the sets above it in the range.

Neo QLED with Quantum Mini LED
Mini LEDs are a fraction of the size of a conventional LED, so Samsung can pack far more of them behind the screen and control them in much smaller zones - that's Supreme Mini LED Dimming. Combined with Quantum dot colour (Samsung call it 100% Colour Volume), you get deeper blacks right next to bright highlights without the haloing that cheaper LED TVs show around bright objects on a dark background.

NQ4 AI Processor
The processor upscales whatever you're watching - live TV, an old DVD rip, a lower-res stream - towards 4K in real time, and it also handles AI Customization Mode, which reads what's on screen and quietly adjusts picture and sound to suit it rather than leaving one flat setting for everything.

Samsung Vision AI Companion
New for 2026, Vision AI adds on-screen assistance for things like visual search on what you're watching, and picture modes tailored automatically to specific content such as football matches. It runs on the same NQ4 processor, so there's no separate box or subscription needed to use it.

HDR10+ Adaptive
HDR10+ Adaptive uses the TV's built-in light sensor to adjust HDR brightness and shadow detail to the light level in your room, scene by scene - useful in a living room that gets bright afternoon sun through the window, where static HDR10 can end up crushing shadow detail.

Built for casual and serious gaming alike
Auto Game Mode switches in automatically the moment a console is detected (ALLM), Motion Xcelerator sharpens up fast motion, and Game Bar overlays FPS, input lag and aspect ratio controls including 21:9 and 32:9 ultra-wide modes and a mini-map zoom for competitive titles. The AI Gaming Optimizer recognises the genre you're playing and tunes settings for it automatically. Note the QN70H runs at native 50/60Hz rather than the 120Hz+ panels on Samsung's higher Neo QLED tiers, so treat it as a strong all-rounder for gaming rather than a competitive 4K120 gaming display.

Object Tracking Sound Lite & Q-Symphony
The TV's own 20W speakers use Object Tracking Sound Lite to move dialogue and effects around the screen as the action does, and Active Voice Amplifier lifts speech automatically when it detects background noise in the room. Add a Samsung soundbar later and Q-Symphony plays the TV's speakers in concert with it rather than switching them off.

Tizen smart hub, with 7 years of updates
One UI on Tizen brings all your apps and inputs into one home screen, plus Samsung TV Plus for free ad-supported channels and the Art Store for displaying artwork when the TV's idle. Samsung is committing to software updates for this range for 7 years from launch, so the smart platform shouldn't feel dated a couple of years in.
