The FE exists to put the parts of the Galaxy Buds range that people actually use into a set that costs half the price of the Pro. You get real active noise cancelling, 360 Audio with head tracking, six microphones for calls, and 30 hours of total playback with the case. What you give up is the second driver and wireless charging - not the things that matter on a commute. If you carry a Galaxy phone, Auto Switch moves the audio between your devices without you touching anything.

Active noise cancelling
Genuine ANC rather than passive isolation, cutting the low, constant noise of a bus, a train carriage or an office air-conditioning unit so you can listen at a lower and safer volume.

Up to 30 hours with the case
Eight and a half hours from the earbuds with cancelling off, or six hours with it on, and 30 hours in total with the charging case. That is a full week of commuting on one case charge.

Six microphones for calls
Six microphones across the pair isolate your voice from what is going on behind you, so calls taken on a street or a platform still arrive clearly at the other end.

360 Audio with head tracking
360 Audio places sound around you and tracks the movement of your head, so the sound stage stays anchored to the screen rather than turning with you.

Ambient sound when you need it
Switch to ambient and the microphones feed the outside world back in - enough to hear a platform announcement or hold a short conversation without taking the buds out.

Samsung Seamless Codec
Alongside AAC and SBC, Samsung's own SSC codec carries higher quality audio between a Galaxy device and the buds than standard Bluetooth codecs allow.

Auto Switch across your Galaxy devices
Start a video on a tablet and take a call on your phone and the audio follows automatically - no disconnecting, no going into Bluetooth settings.

Pinch and swipe controls
Pinch the stem to play, pause or skip and swipe it to change volume. Both work reliably with gloves on, which taps on a flat surface do not.

Galaxy AI - Interpreter and Live Translate
Paired with a compatible Galaxy phone, Galaxy Interpreter gives you real-time two-way translation through the earbuds themselves - genuinely useful abroad rather than a demo feature.

Gemini and Bixby voice wake-up
Call up Gemini or wake Bixby by voice without reaching for your phone, for hands-free control while walking or driving.

Samsung Find
If a bud goes missing down the side of a seat, Samsung Find locates it and can put it into lost mode - the feature you will not care about until the day you need it.

IP54 rated
Rated IP54 against dust, rain and sweat, so they will handle a run in Irish weather and a session in the gym without complaint.

Three ear tip sizes in the box
Small, medium and large tips are supplied so you can get a proper seal, which is what determines both the comfort and how well the noise cancelling actually works.
