Product Description
Flexibly Installed Solar, Endless Power
Stop taking your security camera down to charge it. The Tapo A201 is TP-Link's official solar panel for Tapo battery-powered cameras, and it turns any of them into a genuinely fit-and-forget installation. It clips neatly onto the camera for a single, tidy unit, or sits up to four metres away on the sunniest wall or roof you can reach, quietly topping the battery up all year round. High-efficiency monocrystalline cells and 2.5 W of charging power mean a normal Irish day's light is enough to keep your camera recording - no ladders, no flat batteries, no gaps in your footage.
Works With Every Tapo Battery Camera
One accessory covers the whole Tapo battery range. The A201 is designed to pair with all Tapo battery-powered security cameras, so whether you run a single camera at the back door or several around the property, the same panel does the job on any of them.
Non-Stop Power Supply
Solar charging keeps the battery topped up continuously instead of in occasional big charges, so the camera simply never runs out. TP-Link rates the panel at just 45 minutes of standard daily sunlight to keep a Tapo battery camera running for a full day, which is a low enough bar for it to work through an Irish winter rather than only in high summer.
High-Efficiency Monocrystalline Solar Cells
The panel uses premium monocrystalline silicon cells - the most efficient of the common solar cell types - to pull the most energy out of the light that actually reaches it. That efficiency is what lets a panel this compact deliver a maximum 2.5 W of charging power.
Integrated or Detached - Your Choice
Mount the panel directly onto the camera for one sleek, unified unit, or split the two apart using the included extension wire and put the panel where the sun actually falls. With the 0.25 m panel lead and the 3.8 m extension together you get roughly four metres of reach, which is usually the difference between a shaded eave and a sunny gable.
Flexible Angle Adjustment
The supplied bracket mounts on a wall or a roof and tilts and swivels, so you can aim the panel squarely at the midday sun rather than accepting whatever angle the wall gives you. Getting the angle right is the single biggest factor in how much charge the panel actually delivers.
IP65 Weatherproof
Rated IP65 against rain and dust, with six waterproof gaskets in the box for the mounting points, the A201 is built to be left outside permanently. It operates from -20 °C to 45 °C, so Irish frosts and heatwaves alike are well inside its range.
Type-C Output, Micro USB Adapter Included
The panel outputs over USB Type-C at a maximum 5.2 V, so it connects straight to Tapo cameras with a Type-C charging port. TP-Link also supplies a Type-C to Micro USB adapter in the box, so the older Micro USB Tapo cameras are covered too without you buying anything extra.
One Panel Per Camera
Worth knowing before you order: a solar panel can only be connected to one camera at a time, so a multi-camera setup needs one A201 per camera. Note too that because the Tapo C425 has a magnetic base, that model supports detached installation only - the panel cannot be clipped directly onto it.
