Two lenses that work together - one watches everything, the other follows what moves
A single security camera forces a compromise: go wide and faces are too small to identify, go tight and you miss what happens outside the frame. The TC93D uses two 2K lenses to avoid choosing. The fixed ultra-wide keeps a 165 degree view of the whole scene, and when it detects movement the pan/tilt telephoto lens turns and tracks it automatically, zooming in up to 4.9x. You get the context and the detail in the same recording. It runs entirely on the included Tapo A201 solar panel - about an hour of direct sun a day keeps the 10,000mAh battery topped up, so there is no cable to run and no charging to remember. AI detection separates people, pets and vehicles from branches and shadows, and there is no subscription for it.
Dual 2K lenses working together
A fixed 165 degree ultra-wide for the whole scene and a pan/tilt telephoto for detail, both at 2K 3MP. The wide lens spots the motion, the telephoto turns to it.
Automatic motion tracking
When the fixed camera detects movement, the pan/tilt lens follows it. You end up with a close-up of whatever triggered the alert rather than a distant shape.
4.9x zoom on the telephoto
Enough magnification to make a face or a number plate legible at the far end of a driveway.
360 degree coverage
334 degrees of mechanical pan giving full 360 degree coverage, and 90 degrees of tilt giving 120 degrees of vertical coverage.
Solar powered - about an hour of sun a day
The Tapo A201 solar panel is included. TP-Link rate one hour of direct sunlight as enough to keep it running for a day, which in practice means you install it and forget it.
10,000mAh battery
A large battery behind the panel carries it through dull weeks. Charging is capped at 2.5W from the panel.
Free AI person, pet and vehicle detection
Tells the difference between a person, a pet, a vehicle and general motion, with no subscription fee. That is what stops a camera crying wolf at every passing cat.
Colour night vision and IR to 10m
Spotlights give full-colour night footage, or 850nm infrared reaches about 10 metres in the dark.
Two-way audio and a 91.5dB siren
A built-in microphone and speaker with noise cancellation for talking to a caller, plus a siren measured at 91.5dB at 10cm.
Dual-band Wi-Fi
Connects on 2.4GHz or 5GHz, so it can use whichever band actually reaches the mounting point.
Local storage up to 512GB
Records to a microSD card of up to 512GB. Tapo Care cloud storage is optional, not required.
