Product Description

One USB-C port becomes five, including 4K 60Hz HDMI

Modern laptops give you two USB-C ports and nothing else, which becomes a problem the moment you need a monitor, a mouse, a memory stick and a charger at the same time. This hub turns one of those ports into five: a 4K 60Hz HDMI output, a 100W Power Delivery passthrough so the laptop keeps charging, a USB-C data port and two USB-A ports, all at 5Gbps. The 4K 60Hz figure matters - plenty of cheaper hubs cap HDMI at 4K 30Hz, which makes a desktop mouse pointer feel like it is dragging through treacle. It is housed in scratch-resistant aluminium alloy with a 180mm braided cable, needs no drivers on any operating system, and the connector stows into the body so it does not snag in a bag.

4K at 60Hz over HDMI
HDMI 2.0 output driving a 4K display at a full 60Hz. Many hubs at this price manage only 4K 30Hz, which is fine for video but makes ordinary desktop work feel sluggish because the cursor updates half as often. Worth checking on any hub you buy.

100W Power Delivery passthrough
A dedicated PD 3.0 port takes your existing USB-C charger and passes up to 100W through to the laptop, accepting 5V/3A right up to 20V/5A. So the single port you gave up to the hub still charges the machine - you are not choosing between power and peripherals.

5Gbps on every data port
The USB-C and both USB-A ports run USB 3.2 Gen 1 at up to 5Gbps. Fast enough to move a large video file off an external SSD in a sensible amount of time, rather than the 480Mbps that USB 2.0 ports still deliver on some hubs.

Two USB-A ports for the things that never went USB-C
Mice, keyboards, memory sticks, printers and dongles are mostly still USB-A. Two full-speed ports means you are not carrying adapters for your adapters.

Aluminium alloy shell
A scratch-resistant aluminium alloy case rather than plastic. It also helps disperse the heat that comes with passing 100W through a body this small.

Braided 180mm cable
A 180mm braided cable - long enough to let the hub sit on the desk rather than hanging off the side of the laptop and levering on the port, and braided so it survives being coiled into a bag every day.

Self-storing connector
The USB-C connector tucks into the body of the hub when you are not using it, so it does not catch on everything else in your bag.

Driver-free on everything
Windows, macOS, iPadOS, iOS, Android, Chrome OS and Linux all work without installing anything. Plug it in and the ports appear.
