The US70TR is a complete home cinema rather than a soundbar with ambitions. Five main channels, a wireless subwoofer and a pair of wireless rear speakers give you genuine surround from behind, while an up-firing centre channel adds the height layer that makes Dolby Atmos and DTS:X work - and keeps dialogue anchored to the screen instead of drifting. Nine speakers share 500W. The rears need nothing but a power socket, HDMI eARC handles one-cable connection to the TV, and 4K pass-through with VRR and ALLM means a console can run through the bar at 120Hz without losing anything.

Five main channels, a subwoofer channel and a height channel, delivered by nine drivers across the bar, sub and rears - with 500W to drive them.

Genuine wireless rear speakers
The rears connect wirelessly and only need a power socket, so you get real surround from behind the sofa without running speaker cable across the room.

Up-firing centre channel
A centre speaker that fires upward adds the height information Dolby Atmos and DTS:X carry, and gives dialogue its own channel so voices stay clear against a loud mix.

Dolby Atmos and DTS:X
Both major object-based formats are supported, so films mixed in either play back with the overhead and surround placement intact rather than folded down to stereo.

WOW Orchestra
On a compatible LG TV, the TV's own speakers play alongside the soundbar instead of switching off - more drivers, more height, and a bigger soundstage than either produces on its own.

WOW Interface
Control the soundbar from the LG TV's own remote and on-screen menus, so there is one remote on the coffee table rather than two.

AI Sound Pro
Detects what you are watching - film, sport, news, music - and shifts the processing to suit it, rather than applying one EQ to everything.

4K pass-through with VRR and ALLM
An HDMI input passes 4K through to the TV and supports variable refresh rate and auto low latency mode at 120Hz, so a PS5 or Xbox can run through the soundbar without giving up gaming features.

HDMI eARC
One cable to the TV carries full-fat lossless audio back to the bar, including Dolby Atmos, and lets the TV remote control the volume.

Hi-Res Audio
Supports high-resolution audio playback over USB and streaming, so music gets more than a compressed TV-speaker treatment.
